This is one of the most common "which one do I pay for" questions, so here's the straight version with no hype. Everything below comes from the official pricing and help pages.
Quick take
- $20/mo each, but Perplexity drops to $17/mo yearly. We didn't find a yearly price for Plus.
- Perplexity is built around search. You get weekly Pro Search limits and monthly Research limits, sized for 'average use', with no numbers published. You also get a choice of top AI models.
- Images and video: Perplexity's help center lists both. Plus has image creation, but video isn't stated.
- Agents: Perplexity has expanded Computer access, 4,000 one-time bonus credits and Comet Assistant (monthly limits). Plus has ChatGPT Work, agent mode and Codex.
- Plus has more tools: projects, scheduled tasks, custom GPTs, Sites and memory.
Our honest read
If most of what you do is look things up and want sources, Perplexity Pro fits, especially paid yearly. If you want an all-round assistant for writing, coding and making things, Plus does more.
