This is one of the most common "which one do I pay for" questions, so here's the straight version with no hype. Everything below comes from the official pricing and help pages.
Quick take
- $20/mo for Claude Pro ($17/mo yearly) vs $19.99/mo for Google AI Pro. We didn't find a yearly price for Google's plan in what we checked.
- Both limits work the same way: a window that refreshes every 5 hours plus a weekly cap. Claude gives at least 5x Free per session, and Google gives 4x standard limits. Neither publishes message counts.
- Context: up to 1M tokens on Claude's newest models, and 1M tokens on Google AI Pro.
- Images and video: Google has both. Neither is mentioned on the Claude pages we checked.
- Extras: Google bundles 5 TB storage, family sharing and YouTube Premium Lite. Claude gives you Claude Code, Claude in Chrome and Microsoft 365, Projects and Dashboards (beta).

If you're a writer or coder who lives in one chat, Claude Pro is the focused pick. If you want images, video and a storage bundle in the same subscription, Google AI Pro covers more for the money.
